en.malanginspirasi.com –  Probolinggo Police Chief AKBP Asmida Rizki Siregar led the immediate deployment of personnel and specialized equipment following a fresh outbreak of fires within the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) area in East Java.

The blaze was first detected on Thursday afternoon, September 10, in the savanna region of the Pengol Block near the famous Teletubbies Hill.

In response, a joint task force comprising Probolinggo Police, cross-sector agencies, and local volunteers mobilized on Friday morning to prevent the flames from encroaching further into surrounding forest zones.

“We will continue to collaborate with all stakeholders in managing these fires,” AKBP Rizki stated on Saturday, September 12.

“Together, we are undertaking suppression and prevention efforts to stop the fire from spreading further,” he continued.

Extinction efforts have proven challenging due to strong mountain winds and dry seasonal vegetation.

To tackle the rugged terrain, the Probolinggo Police deployed custom-modified official service vehicles equipped with 1,000-liter water tanks.

These modified units are actively supplying essential water directly to teams operating in hard-to-reach locations.

Alongside physical firefighting and sweep operations to catch emerging hotspots, authorities have tightened security around Mount Bromo’s entry points.

The police urge tourists, local operators, and residents to strictly adhere to access restrictions until authorities declare the area fully safe.

“Active public participation is crucial. “Let us work together to protect the TNBTS area and immediately report any hotspots discovered so that they can be addressed as early as possible,” he concluded.
