en.malanginspirasi.com – A forest fire observed in the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (TNBTS) area, moving toward B29 Peak, has drawn the attention of the Lumajang Regency Government.
Monitoring as of Sunday morning (August 9, 2026) indicates that the Lumajang area remains safe, with the fire moving away from the regency’s border.
The fire was spotted near the B29 Peak block on Saturday (August 8, 2026) at approximately 22:00 WIB (Western Indonesian Time).
Lumajang Regency Government received an information indicated that the fire’s hotspots are currently located within Probolinggo Regency.
The hotspots are estimated to be about 1.5 kilometers away from residential areas in Argosari Village, Senduro District, Lumajang Regency, East Java Province.
Furthermore, there are no forest areas or stretches of dry grass between the fire site and the settlements that could serve as a path for the fire to spread.
Wind direction is a key factor being continuously monitored. Around 23:20 WIB, the wind shifted toward the northeast, causing the fire to move toward the B30 Peak area in Probolinggo Regency and the Teletubbies Hill block in Pasuruan Regency.
Based on this monitoring, the fire is moving away from the Lumajang border area.
Lumajang Regent Indah Amperawati stated that the local government, together with relevant agencies, is continuously monitoring the fire’s progression to ensure public safety, particularly for residents living near the B29 area.
“Thank God, as of this morning, the Lumajang area remains safe. We are continuing to monitor developments on the ground and coordinate with all parties to ensure the community remains protected,” said Indah as quoted from Info Publik.
