en.malanginspirasi.com – President of Indonesia Republic (RI) Prabowo Subianto reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening food sovereignty and stopping the leakage of state resources.
He conveyed this remark at the shrimp harvest and harvest sorting inspection at the Area-Based Shrimp Cultivation (BUBK) ponds in Kebumen, Central Java, on Saturday, May 23, 2026.
In his speech, Prabowo stated that during his 19-month term, several strategic achievements have been achieved, particularly in the national food sector.
The president stated that Indonesia has now achieved self-sufficiency in several key food commodities.
“We are now self-sufficient in food. We are self-sufficient in rice and corn, and we are still not self-sufficient in protein, eggs, chicken, and meat. We are working on this, and perhaps in four or five years, we will be self-sufficient in meat. Our food supply is relatively secure,” he said .
Prabowo considered this achievement crucial amidst the current global situation filled with conflict and geopolitical uncertainty.
According to him, Indonesia must remain vigilant and strengthen national resilience in various sectors.
“In the world today, there are many conflicts and wars everywhere. We are grateful to the Almighty that we are still not involved, but we are vigilant. We must have strength, so we are building our defense forces to protect our wealth,” said the President.

In addition to food security and defense, Prabowo also emphasized the importance of independently managing national wealth, as mandated by the 1945 Constitution.
He emphasized that Indonesia’s natural resources must be used to the maximum benefit of the people.
“And now, we manage our wealth ourselves. We don’t want our wealth to continue to be exploited by certain people, by certain countries. And we have done this. We must do it; this is a mandate from the Constitution. And this is for the prosperity of all Indonesian people, not just a few,” the President emphasized.
President Prabowo also referred to his speech before the People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia on May 20, 2026.
On that occasion, he emphasized that Indonesia possesses vast wealth, but still faces the problem of state resource leakage, which must be stopped immediately.
“Indonesia is truly very wealthy, but too much of our wealth is leaking away. And we must stop this leakage. And I am determined, I will work with all my might, and with the might of all my assistants, to do whatever is necessary to stop the leakage of the wealth of the Indonesian people,” said Prabowo.
The aim of all these efforts, he added, are to bring the nation’s wealth for all Indonesians to enjoy.
“This wealth must be enjoyed by all Indonesians, not just a select few,” Prabowo concluded.
