Malanginspirasi.com – The Malang City Expo 2025, held from April 30 to May 3 2025 at the Kartini Imperial Building, serves as a tangible manifestation of the government’s commitment to supporting UMKM or Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and cooperatives. Marking its tenth anniversary, the event brings together a collaborative effort involving various institutions, financial bodies, and regional governments to foster economic growth and global expansion.
The expo not only showcases a variety of standout products but also functions as a strategic platform to propel MSMEs and cooperatives into the global market.
Stepen Stanly, Head of Marketing Strategy at the Ministry of Cooperatives and MSMEs, highlighted the government’s ambitious plan to establish 70,000 village cooperatives nationwide.
“This is a strategic step to build community-based economic growth centers at the village and urban neighborhood levels,” he explained.
He further noted that Indonesian cooperatives hold significant potential to penetrate export markets, especially in sectors such as coffee, handicrafts, and processed foods.
“Let us enhance capacity, collaboration, and digitalization so cooperatives can compete globally,” he urged.
Meanwhile, M. Sailendra, Expert Staff to the Mayor of Malang, emphasized that the event plays a vital role in promoting local product empowerment and preserving cultural heritage.
“We aim for Malang’s MSMEs to advance to higher levels and gain national as well as international recognition,” he stated.
In addition to the product exhibition, the Malang City Expo 2025 features an array of engaging activities, including a creative Instagram video contest, a traditional dance festival, a karaoke competition, and awards for the best exhibition booths.
These events collectively contribute to the vibrant atmosphere of the expo, further reinforcing its mission to drive economic empowerment and cultural preservation. (Mahabah Fajar Aprilia & Amanda Nur Istiqomah)
