en.malanginspirasi.com – The Abdulrachman Saleh Air Force Base (Lanud) in Malang has mobilized its full capabilities to support the mission of combating forest and land fires in West Kalimantan.
The deployment of hundreds of Task Force (Satgas) personnel was launched via a special flight operation on the night of Monday, August 25, 2026.
The Commander of Abdulrachman Saleh Air Force Base, Air Commodore Reza R.R. Sastranegara, stated that this flight support operation deployed two Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) military transport aircraft to ferry joint personnel to the affected areas.
“We deployed two aircraft; the first flight utilized a TNI AU Hercules A-1344, carrying 130 personnel from the BKO Task Force—comprising troops from Infantry Battalion (Yonif) TP 534/VD Sidodadi, Lawang,” he said in a written statement on Tuesday, August 26, 2026.

Meanwhile, Reza added, the second flight utilized a TNI AU Boeing 737 A-7308 to transport an additional 70 personnel.
“The deployment of these hundreds of personnel represents a concrete step by the TNI to strengthen the emergency response to forest and land fires in West Kalimantan,” Reza explained.
Reza noted that beyond extinguishing hotspots, the Task Force’s presence is expected to help alleviate the burden on communities affected by the smoke crisis and environmental damage caused by the forest fires.
“This mission reflects Lanud Abd Saleh’s commitment to always stand ready to provide optimal support for humanitarian missions and disaster response operations, ensuring the safety and well-being of the Indonesian people,” he concluded.
