en.malanginspirasi.com – Following the successful kickoff of the ‘Malang Raya Roadrace x Supermoto Championship 2026’ on Jalan Kertanegara, the Malang City Police (Polresta Malang Kota) announced that plans are underway to establish a dedicated drag racing track in the city.
The initiative is part of a broader, sustainable effort by law enforcement and local stakeholders to eliminate illegal street racing by providing professional infrastructure for motorsport enthusiasts.
“We have surveyed several locations and found a suitable site,” said Adjutant Commissioner Rio Angga Prasetyo, Chief of the Malang City Police Traffic Unit (Kasatlantas), on Sunday (May 31).
“We are now in the assessment phase, particularly regarding track safety. Once finalized, we will immediately announce it to the public,” he added.
The recent Kertanegara event showcased a strong synergy between the local government, military, police, and the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI).

Malang City Police Chief (Kapolresta Malang Kota), Kombes Pol. Putu Kholis Aryana, praised the event as a strategic preventive measure.
He noted that instead of relying solely on law enforcement raids, giving youths a legal arena is a much more effective way to channel their adrenaline safely.
The championship is designed as a three-series event spanning across the Malang Raya region, covering Malang City, Malang Regency, and concluding in Batu City for the grand final.
Local authorities hope that by building a healthy and sustainable motorsport ecosystem, Malang can foster young athletic talent while simultaneously boosting the local economy through sports tourism.
