en.malanginspirasi.com – Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin expressed his concern regarding cases where healthcare workers or medical personnel allegedly made unempathetic comments about a BPJS Kesehatan (national health insurance) patient on social media.
According to the Health Minister, healthcare professionals must possess care and empathy when serving the public.
He noted that attitudes lacking empathy can hurt patients’ feelings, especially those in need of assistance.
“I am deeply saddened to see healthcare workers and other professionals serving the public lacking proper empathy. It is unfortunate for our community if we fail to uphold such values of empathy,” asserted Budi Gunadi Sadikin in Jakarta as quoted from Info Publik.
Following up on the matter, the Ministry of Health is currently verifying the status of the individuals involved to determine whether they are active healthcare workers or students.

The findings will serve as the basis for determining subsequent actions, including potential sanctions.

He reiterated that anyone working in public service, particularly in healthcare, must uphold the values of humanity, care, and respect for the public.
