en.malanginspirasi.com — Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Vladivostok on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, to attend the 11th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) as the main guest of honor at the special invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Prabowo landed at Vladivostok International Airport around 10:45 a.m. local time.
He was welcomed by Primorye Region Vice Governor Said Yusupov, Vladivostok Foreign Relations Minister Konstantin Sidorenko, Indonesian Ambassador to Russia and Belarus Jose Antonio Morato Tavares, Indonesian Defense Attaché Air Vice Marshal Budi Susilo, and Honorary Consul Anton Zubkho. A group of Indonesian students also greeted him, waving Indonesian flags.
The presidential aircraft had departed Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta late Tuesday night (September 1) at approximately 23:20 Eastern Indonesia Time, following a limited cabinet meeting at the president’s residence in Hambalang.
Accompanying Prabowo was a high-level delegation including Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, Higher Education, Science and Technology Minister Brian Yuliarto, Investment Minister Rosan Roeslani, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

The four-day forum, held at Far Eastern Federal University from September 1–4, focuses on expanding economic ties across the Asia-Pacific region.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that Putin’s invitation for Prabowo to serve as the main guest of honor “reflects the close relations between Indonesia and Russia built through direct leader-to-leader diplomacy.”
During the visit, Prabowo is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Putin to strengthen cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and other strategic sectors.
This marks Prabowo’s latest trip to Russia since taking office in October 2024.
Previous visits included meetings with Putin in St. Petersburg in June 2025 , where the two countries signed a strategic partnership declaration, and Moscow in December 2025 and April 2026.
Officials have framed the engagement as consistent with Indonesia’s free and active foreign policy, aimed at delivering concrete economic benefits.
