EN.malanginspirasi.com – The Malang Regency Government (Pemkab Malang) is accelerating its digital transformation agenda by initiating collaboration with South Korea’s Green Blue Consortium. A high-level delegation from the consortium visited Pringgitan Pendapa Agung on Monday, May 11, 2026, marking the formal start of the partnership exploration.
Regency Head (Bupati) HM Sanusi confirmed the development on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, stating that the partnership is expected to enhance government operational efficiency and enable real-time, data-driven policymaking.
“We are confident this innovation will significantly contribute to improving operational efficiency and supporting data-based policies through accurate, real-time information,” Sanusi said.
The collaboration enjoys backing from Indonesia’s central government, including the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Kemen Komdigi) and the Ministry of Environment (Kemen LH). It forms part of the national Smart City development program aligned with Golden Indonesia 2045 vision.
Strategic Choice and Expected Impact
Malang Regency was selected as a pilot location due to its strategic potential to accelerate the adoption of smart technologies. Officials hope the initiative will improve public safety and convenience for residents.
Bupati Sanusi has called on all relevant regional agencies to provide full support, including technical coordination and on-site assistance during delegation visits.
“Through this partnership, Malang Regency is expected to become one of the model regions in international cooperation for technology and digital transformation,” he added.
Mr. Hwang In-kyu, representative of the Green Blue Consortium, conveyed through HIPMI Malang Regency Chairperson Qintharra Ulya Yassifa, that the demonstration project will implement an integrated monitoring and control system based on the KNPU platform.
KNPU, an advanced South Korean technology platform, acts as the “digital brain” of a city. It serves as a data integration bridge, allowing various sensors and control devices to communicate efficiently without interoperability barriers.
Key technologies to be introduced include:
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) to accelerate public services.
- Digital Twin technology for more accurate regional simulation and planning.
- Intelligent Traffic Management systems to improve traffic flow and citizen mobility.
“The project is designed to support modern urban governance through the application of various digital technologies,” the consortium representative stated.
If realized, the initiative is expected not only to elevate public service quality in Malang but also to strengthen the regency’s position on Indonesia’s map of international technology cooperation.
